Joe the Pro, Bosch Power Tool Accessories

Joe Sainz is a union carpenter with experience in concrete construction, landscaping, carpentry and electrical mechanics. In his current role with the accessories group of Bosch Power Tools-North America, he’s an application specialist with responsibility for training as well as a consultant who offers customer perspective to Bosch product innovation. He’s also known as “Joe the Pro” – a knowledgeable and helpful professional working to share best practices and product information with construction pros on the jobsite. In this role, Joe provides industry information via blog (bethepro.com), Facebook (bethepro.com, with Joe the Pro) and other social media outlets. He discusses a variety of construction topics, from materials to tools to techniques, and features guest commentary from other construction experts. Additionally, Joe appears at Bosch events at partner retail and distribution locations and has been featured on national radio and industry blogs providing “how-to” advice.

Joe is a native of St. Charles, Mo. He studied in the carpentry apprentice program at Nelson Mulligan Carpenters Training School in St. Louis. Joe later attended Vatterott College in O’Fallon, Mo.

“I enjoy the technical aspects of mathematics and computer science, two academic disciplines I’ve bee interested in since high school. That line of work forces you to think in a linear, disciplined fashion,” Joe said. “Construction, remodeling and building is completely open ended. There is no limit to the amount of creativity and muscle you can pour into a project. I think the technical piece and the hands-on piece compliment one another.”

After completing his initial course work in construction, Joe attended trade school to study electrical mechanics. While attending electrical school, he was offered a position as a union carpenter. During his carpentry training Joe learned that the most successful tradespeople were the ones who took the time to find the best way.

In his experience as a remodeler, Joe found the process of undoing other’s work, often times from decades before, proved to be transforming. This new understanding combined with an ability to troubleshoot allowed him to communicate well with other tradesmen. Building on solid experience as a remodeler, electrician and laborer allowed him to join Bosch Power Tools as a trainer. Success in that role resulted in a promotion to internal sales trainer working with all Bosch employees and giving training sessions to customers at distribution partner events. Joe currently lives in Chicago and continues to travel to trade shows and construction sites to share his passion for using best practices to get better results.
